About the Horizon
The Harrisburg Horizon, Central Pennsyvania's Professional Basketball Team are the 2002
Champion of the EBA. They finished their fifth season with a perfect 13 - 0 record, the
first ever in Minor League Basketball history.
Coach Al Clock was named 2002 EBA Coach of The Year, Point guard Dave Jannuzzi, League
MVP and Forward Biz Crosby, MVP of the Championship Series.
The Horizon entered year five riding the crest of four years of overwhelming success.
In their first year the team captured the hearts of fans and the league with their
scintillating run to the 1998 finals. Although they fell 2 points short of bringing the
championship to Harrisburg, the team took major post season award, as Shon Crosby was
named the league's MVP and Al Clocker was named coach of the year. During the following
three seasons the Horizon continued their first year success by winning the league's
regular season championship.
The on court success is only part of the reason why the Horizon's first five seasons
were a hit. Through the use of free basketball clinic, outreach programs, and player
appearances, they were able to achieve their goal of becoming a visible and positive
influence in their community. Horizon players and management spoke to the area's youth on
the importance of education and self worth, blending the message of life skills with the
sport of basketball.
The Horizon also look forward to continuing their relationship with local community
organizations, giving them the opportunity to spread their message and raise funds for
their cause at all home games. The Horizon have enjoyed a special affiliation at select
home games with Spina Bifida, the Harrisburg area YMCA, the boys and girls club of central
Pennsylvania, Rutherford youth group, communities that care, crimestoppers of PA, Paxtonia
Basketball Association, Sertoma and more.
In all, the Horizon looks forward to building on the foundation of success set in place
over five seasons. for individuals and families, we remain one of the most affordable
forms of entertainment in town. For business people, you will find our various levels of
team sponsorship very affordable and cost effective in getting your message out the
community.
